Joined the RK Suunto Community Club – Bukit Wawasan trail run this morning. With a COT of 2 hours for a 7.7 km trail, it was an exhilarating climb and run indeed! Especially for a beginner like me! 😝 I truly enjoyed the experience though! I realised that it’s amazing what the legs can do when we just allow them to bring us further and further. “Trust the legs, trust the heart. Let them bring me forward”, that’s the voice within me as I ran and climbed forward to finish within the COT.
A’las! Went 7 minutes beyond the COT though! But I am grateful that I now know how far I can push myself further and what else to improve for the next trail run! Definitely must improve on the uphill climb & run. I was impressed by one of the sweepers who was running uphill with lightning speed! Had a chat with him towards the end, and he was so friendly to share some of his training tips. I forgot his name tho. Ooops 😆 I am thankful for him and another sweeper, Mary who were so patient and continuously encouraging some of us to continue running! Nice to see them clearing up all the markers too – important to ensure the forest is well-preserved and not left with our human’s foreign objects. xD
Thanks to my good buddy, Li Leen who waited for me too, although she could have gone faster! We managed to capture a wefie too along the trails while running. Haha! Surprisingly, with her good phone camera, the photo turned out pretty sharp despite our body movements. 😂😂
Participants were given a pack of Water Reimagined at the end of the run. The funky looking water contained calcium, potassium, silica, sodium and sulfate. Should be a good drink for recovery and electrolyte replacement. Tasted like…water! Hahahaha. I still prefer the naturally refreshing coconut water though! Hehe.
Oh, and we were also given a discount voucher for Suunto items. I also found out that we could actually test out the Suunto watches during the run! Too late to find out, but the friendly Suunto Ambassador, Teoh BJ showed us some of the latest & special edition models by Suunto. Really impressive indeed! Thanks for sharing, BJ!
Overall, it had been a great experience for me! Cheers to more trail running! 💪😍
