Art is Giving

This simple watercolour floral painting that I did last week has found its perfect match – hanging on a wall next to the Lord’s Prayer. This was done as a simple birthday gift to aunty Irene last Saturday. πŸ˜ŠπŸ’–

These are peach blossoms in watercolour, in conjunction with #comefloralwithus theme last week. I was struggling between creating flowers that are more realistic or more abstract. In the end, they became like this. Hahaha. Sometimes, the brain has its own little conversations while I’m painting, and those definitely will affect how each paintings turned out to be. The best paintings that I produced are usually the ones when the brain was quiet and my whole being got immersed into the music and/or process of creation. That, to me, is like coming from nothingness, literally.

A journey in art is a continuous journey of discovery and re-discovery, creating and re-creating – a journey of conscious decision making, of what fires your soul and what doesn’t, and what are you going to do with it. It is a journey of self, yet a journey with like-minded and like-hearted souls too – because art is also about expansion – of ourselves and others. πŸ˜ŠπŸ’– Just like joy, it multiplies when you give it away; art is similar too. Art is meant to be shared far and wide; with love and a joyful heart. πŸ˜ŠπŸ’–
